Founder

Golap Banu is a housewife and an elderly student. She is a founding member and founding president of Baridhara Women’s Cooperative Society since 1998. Baridhara Women’s Cooperative Society Ltd. has achieved a lot under its able leadership.

Acquisition:

On 1 November 2003, Baridhara Women’s Cooperative Society Ltd. was nominated as the best cooperative society nationally and Mrs. Golap Banu, President of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, received the Gold Medal on behalf of the organization.

Baridhara Mahila Samabaya Samiti Ltd. gained international recognition in recognition of her good work at the 40th Credit Union Forum Meeting “Akur” from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 23 September 2011.

On 19 November 2011, Baridhara Women’s Cooperative Society Ltd. was nominated as the best co-operative society nationally and Mrs. Golap Banu, President of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, received the Gold Medal on behalf of the organization.

On 9th December 2014, the President Mrs. Golabanu received the “Begum Rokeya Medal” from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina

The active members of the present society are about 47,000 thousand and the savers are about 60,000 thousand and the amount of assets and assets of the society is about 400 crores.
